Extruded aluminium, glass blades, one crank. It arrived in the 1950s and within twenty years it had replaced the timber sash almost everywhere, because it lets the breeze through and does not rot.
This one came out of a Mona house in 1964 with the crank still working. The blades are the original glass, which is thicker than what is sold now.
