Visitors and researchers

We publish all of it, including the ones about the Monday closure and the stair. A free museum has no reason to edit its visitors.

I asked for eleven sheets of drawings on the Tuesday and they were flat on the table on the Friday, with the plan chest reference written on a slip. No fee, no letter of introduction, no fuss.
Dr Aubyn Lawrence, architectural historian
I came in for a project on the 1907 earthquake and left with photographs of a door from one of the relief huts. Nobody asked me who I was.
Kemar, sixth form, Kingston College
They took my father's hurricane shutter, wrote his name on the record, and showed me where it would be kept. I did not expect a museum to want a piece of plywood.
Mrs Beverly Chin, Manchioneal

What people leave on the way out

Five stars is common for a free museum. The four-star ones are the useful ones and they are here too.

A free museum that takes the store seriously. I asked for four objects and all four were on the table.

The labels tell you the parish the thing came from, which no other museum here bothers to do.

Two hours is enough for the five rooms. The machine floor is the one to leave time for.

Took a class of twenty-eight. They pulled six objects out of store for us without being asked twice.
★★★★★
Closed Mondays, which caught me out. Went back Tuesday and the register is worth the second trip.
