Yabba, red clay

1981.3 c. 1880 Earthenware 290 mm across

Thrown, not coiled, and fired low so it stays porous. The base is black from the fire and the inside is worn smooth in one arc where a spoon went round it for years.

The potter is not recorded. The parish is, because the clay is, and St Elizabeth clay fires to this particular red.
